False creek is not real creek? Don't you think it sound strange? Is it a canal or other?

False Creek is an ocean inlet. It was given its misleading name by Captain George Richards who surveyed this body of water in 1859. It used to be 5 times larger than it is today, but has been gradually filled in to accommodate various developments over the years. The most notable project presently is the Southeast False Creek redevelopment plan which will be a temporary home to visiting athletes during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Do you talking about landfill?
I visited Nagano once to see bobsled on winter Olympic Games with my son.but it was too fast!

Yes - some areas have been filled in with 'landfill'. The new land created there can be called 'reclaimed land'. I heard that 20% of Tokyo Bay has been reclaimed!
Thanks for mentioning your experience watching the bobsled race. I'd love to see how fast they move, so finding the best place to watch them is something I'll consider when I go.
