Oh, so valuable!

Comic strip on the dog poop baggies box in my lobby.
If only everybody with a dog thought so!
The caption reads:
Of course it's valuable!
Why do you think they always pick it up?!

One side of the MV Colourful I

On a cruise out into English Bay on a warm, sunny afternoon.
The "MV Colourful I" was built in the 1920s and plied Germany's waterways
as a river barge before being cut into 3 sections and shipped to Canada.

Robson Square Rooftop Garden Reopened!

One of my favourite green spaces in the heart of Vancouver.
This incredibly lush spot is full of wonderful surprises at every turn and level.

Fireworks - China

So much symmetry from the Chinese display!
It was tough choosing just one photo for this blog,
so be sure to look for more on my Flickr page.

No Valuables

I wonder how much of a deterrent this sign on a car window can be.

One aquarium of many at D&G's

Coloured stones and plants were placed
so the seahorses and pipe fish would change colour
.

And change colour, they did!
In a previous post, this seahorse was yellow.

This pipe fish is a little darker.
Much easier to take photos of.

福娃欢欢

My phone strap

In the intimate circle of Fuwa, Huanhuan is the big brother. He is a child of fire, symbolizing the Olympic Flame and the passion of sport -- and passion is the blessing he bestows. Huanhuan stands in the center of Fuwa as the core embodiment of the Olympic spirit. And while he inspires all with the passion to run faster, jump higher and be stronger, he is also open and inviting. Wherever the light of Huanhuan shines, the inviting warmth of Beijing 2008 -- and the wishful blessings of the Chinese people -- can be felt. The fiery designs of his head ornament are drawn from the famed Dunhuang murals -- with just a touch of China's traditional lucky designs. Huanhuan is outgoing and enthusiastic. He excels at all the ball games and represents the red Olympic ring.

The RCMP get their man

Just like an LA-car chase scene captured live from a helicopter...

This reckless 5-tonne truck driver abandons his vehicle after a 30-minute chase

He then gets mowed down by a ghost car

Thrown off the hood of the braking RCMP SUV

And then surrounded by the police

Finally, he's escorted to an awaiting ambulance in handcuffs.
All's safe again in Maple Ridge!
